A hobby led to a career and a business for Eddie Paul. He wanted to learn how to restore his 1984 Trans Am so Eddie enrolled at Fox Valley Technical College (Fox Valley Tech) to pursue his passion. After earning an associate degree, he started his own business — SS Auto Body and Restoration, LLC. Later, Eddie re-enrolled in the Business Management program.
"Just about everything I’ve done in the past few years, Fox Valley Tech has helped me in some way," Eddie notes. And he’s been doing a great deal over the past few years. In addition to attending school, he was active in student government, served as a college Ambassador and as a student representative on the Wisconsin Technical College System Board.

Entrepreneur Scott Wichlacz has achieved a high degree of career success, and according to him, it all began at Lakeshore Technical College (LTC). Scott’s hard work has been recognized numerous times through awards, including: Machine Shop of the Year, Automotive Machinist of the Year, and the Charles W. Yount Award in recognition of distinguished service presented by the Automotive Engine Rebuilders Association (AERA).
"LTC provided me with the training to start me down my career path—it had the classes I wanted, was close to home and affordable," Scott declares. "My plans always were to have my own engine rebuilding business, and LTC helped me achieve that goal."
